When your child teaches you to read!
So I want to home school, therefore, every day is a learning experience but in a fun way. I have been trying to get him interested on reading without any success, then I figured that if I wrote the words of things that he likes he will be more willing to read them. Well, this worked! he knows when I am writing airplane, car or cars, ball, dog, etc. Today I introduced him a name "Gordo" which is my brother's nickname and what everybody calls him since he was little which means "fat boy", for the record my brother is a stick but eats like a fat boy, so this is what happened: he pointed at the words written on the floor, with washable crayons, and said them: "airplane, cars, ball, and ..." he looked at the word and I said "Gordo" then he exclaimed: "Gordo!!!" and went back on the list. I thought that he was just going to restart the reading with airplane but instead he pointed at the words in the floor and named each one "Gordo, Gordo, Gordo, and GORDO!" and laughed out loud!!! I laughed but said no in there it says airplane and he said: "No, Gordo" got up and left and looked at me as if I was the dumbest person in the world. I told him that in my defense, I need to know what he was thinking by naming Gordo all the time, but he put his little index finger up and said "no no no" smiled and left me more confused than ever. I guess he thought I was not a good student.
