No movies!

Today we woke up very early even though we went to bed really late. Alexis was tired but since my mom woke us up, we stayed up. We went to the park for two hours and played with balls, called birds, played with dirt, in the slide, and played with cars in the dirt. Charlotte was also enjoying it. It was cute to see Alexis running around but he did not do it nearly as much as usual, I was starting to worry but then I saw him rubbing his eyes and remembered that he was tired. We came home and I checked his pull ups, he did not pee! and he was eager to go to the bathroom. I was so proud of him. He did really good today with his potty training. We were so busy with so many different activities that he did not even ask to watch a movie until it was time for him to go to sleep. What a kiddo, he is amazing, he makes me smile every day with every little thing he does. I love my chubby!

Sleeping away!

Like always, Sundays are really hard for us. We took a really long nap, making Alexis go to be at 11 pm! Since he is being potty trained, we got a diaper off him while at my parents' house after church, well, he pooped in his underwear, not too much but enough to make me hate doing laundry. He is starting to eat a lot more since he was sick, he still looks skinny but cute like always. I love that he stays in the nursery without any problems and he loves doing what they do in there and sharing with others, which is something really rare for him. Well, I am tired so I must go to bed, I will post more pics. next time.

Gees!

We decided to go to the park during the evening and get some food for the gees. When we got to the park, Alexis noticed the poor things in the water and he got a little worried. We finally got him to get close to where they were and to throw some bread at them, they came really fast, and got really really close to us. He couldn't be happier, he was so happy to be able to give them food that he almost didn't care that they were about to attack him for food. It was so much fun, then he played with a almost 3 years old and they were having so much together that when it was time for both of them  to go, they cried and extended their arms towards each other. Hahaha, you got to love when they get really dramatic! It was the perfect day, specially because I got to sleep until noon and Alexis got lots of play time with his daddy!

Driving!

We went to make a payment in the car and naturally, Alexis got really happy with so many cars around. There was one that was opened and he was quick enough to notice it. He got in and pretended to drive it! It was really cute, but it was hard to take him out of it. Then we had to do some shopping and again, it was an adventure with the two kids, good night!

"Oh No, duckies in the agua"

Today I did not see much of Alexis, when I woke up (12 noon) he was gone with my mom. She told me though, that in the way they saw a little lake with duckies and Alexis pointed out the car window and said: "oh no, oh man, help duckies in AGUA, oh man, OH NO" hahaha, you have to love that one. Poor kiddo, he must have thought that they were drowning or something, I tried to explain later that the duckies like to swim in the water but he was still a little worried! I love my goofy son.

Translation Please!

It was raining today and Alexis pointed at the window and said: "Wa-ter" I was like "what?, it is raining" then he said "Wa-ter, wa-ter" I asked "what are you saying, I don't understand?" He looked at me with an impatient look and said loud and clear "AGUA" right! he was saying water! I couldn't believe that he had to translate for me, but in my defense, he has never said water before, he always said agua. Funny how your kids can correct you most of the time and they suddenly acquired the parent look instead of you.

Just a normal day

We played a lot today, specially with Woody which he calls "poo poo" and sometimes Woody. It was amazing to see how he puts into play what he learns everyday. Like, talking to Woody to explain him that he is going to turn off the Luz so he can go a mimi and finishing with an "OK?" to make sure that Woody understood and accepted it. I would reply with my Woody voice and say "OK!" and then he would turn off the light! and that became a game, he will turn on the lights and greet Woody and then do the little explanation and turned them off again. It was really cute to see and it made me happy the fact that he knew what we do, and he understood really well what we try to do. I love that he is patient, and sweet even though he wants to do something against what we told him, and he doesn't do it. I love my little baby!

Runaway Puppies!

We decided to have a family home evening outside because we want to take advantage of the nice beautiful weather. Who would have thought that in the way we could have had two runaway puppies? Not me, but the thing is that one is a real puppy and the other one is my son! An older man was taking his few months old puppy outside, he stopped so Alexis could play with him. It was so cute to see Alexis calling out: "come on, come on" smiling at the dog and bending a little while clapping his hands for the dog to get close to him. Then, the dog got himself out of the leash and well, an old lady couldn't run as fast to get him so I helped while Cameron stayed with the stroller but Alexis ran behind me and Cameron behind Alexis with the stroller. It was a funny scene so at the end the old man caught the puppy, I caught Alexis and Cameron and Charlotte caught up to us. Alexis pet the puppy a few more minutes and off we went to the park to enjoy the rest of our already interesting night!

Father's day

Alexis woke up a little better but still not perfect. We went to church and then got home to celebrate father's day with my family. We did a horrible jot at potty training him this weekend so we thought to put his underwear on, well... it ended up being dirty due to a bowel movement that by the way, Alexis did not mention and he is usually really good at telling us when his diaper is dirty but ummm, for some reason he did not tell us this time. He also saw his old penguin in the dirty laundry, which I am keeping to wash and then give it to my parents before we leave to Utah, and Alexis said "eww" and went and grabbed his new penguin. Of course I would have done the same thing, specially because he got his penguin wet and now it smells like a wet chicken. If you don't know how a wet chicken smells don't worry because I am not sure either but I didn't know a best way to describe the horrible smell of that penguin. Thank goodness I am going to wash it tomorrow, and Alexis went to sleep not very happily because it seemed like he wanted to stay up a little longer but he is sick and needs as much rest as he can.
P.S: he went by himself to take a nap, I felt horrible because it felt like my baby is such a big boy now! :(

A fever and a new Penguin

Today we were supposed to go to the zoo but last night we stayed up with Alexis. He had fever all night and threw up few times due to Flem. Cameron laid in the couch with him so he could be in an upright position so his Flem will come out faster. Alexis seemed to get tired of being on top of Cameron and decided to sleep in the other half of the couch. When I got up around 7 am, I saw them and it was a nice little pic that I didn't take because I was so tired, and Charlotte got up at 3 am thinking that we were having a party because she was so excited that we were all in Alexis' room. My poor boy, I really wanted him to go to the zoo. My dad was supposed to go too with my mom but he ended up working, the reason why is because they wanted to get him a new Puiqui puiqui (Penguin) since the old one is... well, very old and ugly now. My mom got to our house and gave Alexis the new penguin and he was sleeping so he just looked at it and thought that it was his old penguin but clean and with a fixed eye. Hours later, he woke up and he was really excited about his penguin. He was in much better mood but still sick and talking like Donald duck! My poor little boy, I hope he gets better and I hope I get better too to attend him more.

just the begginning

Alexis was still not feeling good, we were at home the whole day except at night because we had to do some grocery shopping. He was such a good boy in the store even though he was tired. We got home at about 10:30pm and he went right to bed. Poor little guy, I think his illness is just starting.

My sick boy

You never know how much can a little macho kid change until he is sick. He was so dramatic! he will cry even if he thought he hit himself, he will look at me and cry so I could console him and give him a hug and a kiss. I guess he got that from his dad :) It was a really hard day for him but we managed to play for a bit and we even went to take a walk during the evening. It was so nice out, I know he is going to be better tomorrow but I do also hope that he eats, he is such a bad eater and this illness, only makes it worse. I love my baby, but he talks funny now that he is sick, it actually sounds really cute. I hope we all get better tomorrow so we can enjoy the day a lot more.

Illness

So I woke up feeling a lot better but Alexis didn't. I still feel bad but so much better than yesterday...except for my sore throat. This morning my little guy went to wake me up saying: "esa es momma!" I kept saying: "no, she hasn't come home yet baby" he then replied: "esa es momma, come come, momma. Come on, out momma!" I got up to show him that my mom wasn't here yet only to find the door of  the apartment opened and my mom outside the building, calling me, and knocking the door. My little guy didn't come out of the apartment, which is a relief, but he was so right about my mom being out there! He is so good, I am amazed every day of how good he is and how patient he is. He is very loving and understanding, I love him so much. Anyway, today he had a fever and we were supposed to go to a doctor's appointment for Charlotte and to drop off the new van we got so they could detail it. With this said, Alexis wouldn't have been able to take a proper nap but my mom offered to take him home so he could take a nap and so we didn't have to wake him up after an hour. This worked perfectly, when we picked him up, he greeted me with a huge smile and ran towards me so I could hug him and kiss him. He seemed in better moods but he didn't eat anything, which is understandable because I was not in mood to eat either, because of the sore throat. I am so glad that we got to play today though, even though he was sick, he was eager to play with me the whole day. At night, he was feeling much better, so naturally he was playing a lot and laughing a lot. I went and chased an ice cream truck so I could buy one for him but I ended up buying one for all of us. We had a great night, read the scriptures and did our normal routine. Now he is asleep and I am ready to go to, I hope tomorrow we can enjoy the day even more.

Difficult day

I got sick so as it is to be expected, my little guy had a horrible and difficult day. He did not play as much, he was just quietly sitting down almost the entire day, he watched movies but nothing out of the ordinary. I think he felt lonely and I felt even worse about that. I told Cameron to let him watch the movie that he wanted and stay up a little later than his bed time because of this. I think he was happy but I still missed him, he came and gave me a big kiss goodnight which made me feel really good in no time. Hopefully tomorrow I feel better so I can make up for today.

Monster Munchies

My little goose woke up at 8 am like usual even though he went to bed late (11pm). He played with Gordo a lot, I guess is more like they fought a lot for which movie to play, and then for food and water. Then he took his nap and asked for his tete but there was not more milk left and I had no car so I asked Cameron that on his way home, if he could buy some milk and food. Alexis woke up in the middle of his nap like he normally does to drink his tete but when I told him there was no more he said: "come on, go, dame tete" I laughed and he got mad but I explained that I was laughing because he is so cute and I can't believe he is talking more and more every day. I told him I was sorry but there was no more milk to put on his tete, he seemed to understand even though he was crying and then finally got up, then came back to bed, laid in there and got up again and told me to follow him so we could play. He was not happy when I carried Charlotte to bring her along with us to play, I explained that I couldn't leave her alone specially because she was awake and wanted to play too. He decided it was not a bad idea and let her come. Then after doing our normal routine: picking up the room, brushing teeth, going potty, putting diaper and pajamas on, reading scriptures, reading a book, praying, and then saying our good nights; we could hear Alexis talking. We thought he was asking for his penguin but then Cameron remembered that he had it with him so we couldn't really understand what he was saying through the door. I realized that he was just playing in his room or talking to himself which he does often when we put him to bed and he is not that tired. Cameron went to get his empty bottle from his room and found a book on his bed, HE WAS READING! and guess what book: Monster Munchies!!!

Like every other Sunday

We again had a long day, went to eat with two different families. We stayed longer in the house of one of them, until like 7 pm and Alexis was playing a lot with my cousin Mariesther who was very persistent on playing with the daughter of the family who is 12 years old and was annoyed to have to play with Mariesther. Alexis though, was trying to imitate her and was cracking up at every thing she was doing, I have to mention that Mariesther is a down syndrome girl, very smart, and not sweet at all like the regular down syndrome kids. LOL, she is very quick at thinking and it is very hard to believe that she has down syndrome, unless you see her features in the face and body. We got home and Alexis was so happy that he immediately got his cars out of the box, all the balls, and every toy he could get out. My poor little boy missed his home and I let him play until very late, then Cameron told him it was time to sleep and he was really happy to go to sleep. Charlotte fell asleep before him which is very unusual. My two kids were really tired but so were Cameron and I. Good night!

Dinner and dance in church

We got our new van and it is a Honda Odyssey!!! we are so excited even though it still needs to be cleaned and detailed. We will come back on Tuesday for this, but when Alexis saw it he was like: "oh cool, oh wow car" I couldn't wait for him to see it and obviously we didn't take him with us to buy it because he would have gone crazy again at the dealership. How we missed him though, I made a phone call to my mom to see how he was doing and he was not doing so well. He broke a glass, threw water on the floor, wanted to pour more water in the carpet, and got mad because my mom wouldn't give him her Ipod. My little sweetheart was not in good moods but also I think is because nobody was paying attention to him, if some one was really watching him, I doubt the glass would have fallen from his hands because nobody lets him grab a glass cup. He didn't do this on purpose either, just to make things clear. But he did pour water on the floor on purpose, and he screamed for the Ipod on purpose too. Sometimes I get a little frustrated because he needs attention for the grandparents too and I dislike when they just let him run by himself around the house while there are big knifes laying around all over the place because they are too lazy to pick them up, or garbage, and small candies too. Enough venting though, I just wished my mom would do a little  more than playing in the computer and talking to her "friends" because there is a real little person than is eager to be loved by her. Anyway, after we picked him up we went to a dinner and father's day dance at the church. It was kind of good because Alexis had fun but the music was kind of lame. Oh well, at least we enjoyed the food.

Finally a night at home

Today was the start of the world cup at 6 am! I did watch it at my parents' house but I took Charlotte with me and left Alexis with Cameron who was going to drop him off on his way to work. I was so worried the whole time though, because I always get scared of: forgetting him alone at home, or taking him to work with Cameron instead of dropping him off. I know that this won't happen but I always get scared because it happened to me when I was little. Do not worry, nothing like that happened. It was later than usual though when I called Cameron at home because it was past 8:30 am and they still were not at my parents', turned out that Cameron felt asleep because the alarm didn't go off. Alexis was all over the place like always and took a long nice nap. Then Cameron picked us up and we had a nice night at home, we played, we laughed, and we talked. What a relaxing night after such a hectic week.

Car dealer..

...and Alexis was so happy because he got to go with us to the car dealer to buy a van. He kept screaming happily "car, car" and pointing at each one. He got in a van that we are thinking about buying but couldn't quite do it because misunderstanding issues with the dealer that was there today, our sales guy had the day off, and Alexis was so crazy with the van. Also he kept trying to open the other car for display that they had, with our car keys. He really loves cars but I do really hope that he won't like racing because I will be so worried every time. He was also restless because they had us there for almost 2 hours just to tell us no, and then us saying "we'll be back". When we got home, he felt asleep really quick, my good boy did horribly but he can't help it. So many cars and there were BIG!!! I better go to sleep too!

My brother's graduation

YAY!!! my brother's graduation was today and we were so happy to go, well... more me than anybody else of course. It was not easy and we did not hear almost anything, we spent the majority of time either walking Charlotte, chasing Alexis around the halls, or both things at the same time. Don't you love special occasions? I do but I just wished that I could seat for at least an hour and hear something at the same time but I guess that won't happen as long as there is terrible twos and more kids to go through that :) That is the fun of it though, and that time passes by really quick.

Daddy's b-day celebration

Since we didn't have time to really celebrate the b-day during the weekend, we decided to do it today because we just knew that we weren't going to have time during the rest of the week. Alexis was a little thrilled with the whole thing because there was so many people, just family but still, and he could just run from one side to the other to be the center of attention of everyone. Thank goodness it was not his birthday, otherwise I don't know what he would have done to be "the show" of the night.

Making a mess

I mean literally. I started potty training him today. First he fell asleep around 11 am, he went by himself to his room, laid in his bed, and fell asleep without drinking the bottle. Of course, I took a nap with Charlotte and it felt really well after 3.5 hours of napping time!!! Then he woke up, and by the way I had put a diaper on him while he was asleep, he hadn't poop so you can imagine the consequences... yes, a sad face telling me there was a "problem" in the living room and there it was. It didn't take long to clean it up, I cleaned him up and that was it. Then I was trying to watch a movie that we have gotten from netflix but couldn't watch because I felt asleep the entire movie. Anyway, I was playing with Charlotte, cooing and smiling at her and with Alexis I was playing baseball and all while watching the movie. Then, I hear a splash and I looked over and Alexis was walking towards me and pointing at the trail of poop that he was leaving behind him, I held him away from my body and put him in the bath tub, then went and cleaned up the mess while Charlotte was looking at me from the bouncy seat, and then I went to the bathroom to give her a bath too while also Alexis was being washed! What a day but this is sure one of those memories that I will keep forever.

A fireside and a sleepless boy

Put together those two and the final result will be... a disaster! what did I hear or learn at the fireside? I guess the answer will be that toy cars can make a lot of noise in the gym floor and expand so much that can make heads turn. Also, that telling a kid to be quiet could just mean that they just learn more ways to tell you to be quiet. How fast a kid can run back and forward without getting tired, etc. Very entertaining if I dare say.

Another day with Lee

This time it was Cameron's b-day and we decided to spend the day with our friends too. Alexis was such a good boy the whole day. First we went to clean the church at 10 am, then we went to eat at our friends' and then to Monkey Joe's, after that we went back to our friends' until 8 pm and finally home. Let me tell you that Alexis still doesn't like the slides that they have in Monkey Joe's, and for me it was really hard to climb up with him in one arm while he was forcing his weight down because he didn't want me to climb up, and with my other arm I will hold on to a rod so I wouldn't fall from an aprox. 40 feet tall stairs of an inflatable slide. At the last few steps, I had to throw him up because I felt like I couldn't keep going but we did it, then I literally drag him with me so I could sit at the top of the slide with him in my legs, I looked down and I said "I am so sorry I made you do this" I was a chicken myself, it gets pretty intimidating to do it when looking down. We went and it was so scary but it seems like on our way down he was smiling while I was screaming, I hope he wasn't making fun of me, it was a long day so good night and Alexis got more scratches from Lee.

A day with a... friend?

My best friend's b-day was today, she also has a two year old just older than Alexis by two months and two days! He tends to be a little violent sometimes so that was the case today. He kept hitting Alexis and Alexis will just say: "stop, don't" or just look at him like a little mosquito (compared to him, this little kid seems very little). Sometimes it takes more than that for a kid like Lee to stop hitting like getting mad, pushing away, or crying and it worked but not for long. After the night at my friend's house, Alexis could already say "Leeeee" and he was really sad to leave but he was tired too so he was happy at the same time. It was a long day though night though because Alexis started having fever due to the vaccine which never before had an effect on him. He was sleepy the whole day but at night he seemed a lot better.

Thursday, June 3, 2010

Vaccines Day!!!

The well-being visit went really good. Alexis did pretty well, except if you consider not wanting to get on the scale to know his weight and saying "no" to anything that the doctor asked him. Besides that, everything went well. He was 42" long, and 40 lbs. meaning: off the chart in height and in the 95% for the weight for kids his age. Yeah, they couldn't believe that he was 2, the nurses thought he was 4 or 5 specially because he also seemed advanced intellectually for his age. With that big of a body he has to try to keep up my poor little baby. It is still amazing to me that just 2 years ago I was in a hospital bed, holding him and thinking "this is what it feels to be a mother" it was a love that can't be compared to anything in the world, and the feeling that you can do anything you can to keep a smile in that little angel's face. Also, I came to understand our Heavenly Father's plan and his love for each one of us. I want to teach the way he teaches us, with love. I love my son and I can't believe he is so big already. Where is my 19" and 9 lbs baby???? I think he will always be that baby though, even when I see those clothes size 5T I still think that they are just to try to fool me into thinking that he has grown. :)

twisted ankle!

Alexis fell twice and twisted his ankle, not enough for him to cry or anything like that but as a mother I still worried enough as if he broke it or something. He couldn't enjoy his day at the park as well as other days but he sure try to call the birds by putting his hands in a circle around his mouth and saying: "come here", the birds were stubborn though, and wouldn't come. Besides that, he had a great day but I am trying to explain to him that tomorrow is doctor's day and that he might get some shots! I hope he does well, he is a really brave boy and I won't be able to see him crying, I am so scared for him but I must be brave so he can be brave too. Wish me luck!

nothingness

I am ashamed to say that today we did nothing, we didn't even come outside to play. For some reason the three of us (Alexis, Lottie, and I) were so lazy... it was like the weekend got us really tired, enough for the whole week. Anyway, we spent the morning coloring and watching movies. Then took a nap and Alexis woke up around 6:30pm so he did not feel so glad when bed time came, Cameron told me that he could hear Alexis playing in his room until very late at night. And that was the whole day for Alexis
