I feel as if Alexis mature this last couple of days. I usually want him and try to encourage him to share so I always ask him for one of his cars, one of his cookies, or one of his balls. Usually he will share with me his balls and cookies but not his cars; and this hasn't really changed. Today, before I even asked him for candy or whatever he is eating, he came up to me and game one mini chocolate. Then I noticed that he has been doing this for few days, also he sits down at the table before I have to tell him that he needs to sit down to eat. He always likes to eat with a fork or spoon now, he knows that he needs to get his hands VERY clean with a napkin, and also that once he is finished eating, he doesn't need to push the plate and scream NO, he only needs to say "No mas" (no more) and he patiently waits for us to put him down (he has a booster seat). His attitude seems to have changed incredibly, we went to church for the first time as a family of 4 and Alexis saw the gym... he knows that means: balls and games. I thought to myself "oh boy, I will have to chase him and drag him to the sacrament room while carrying a newborn little girl". I said to him: "baby, we have to go inside and you know today is Sunday, we don't play at the gym today" he gave one last glance at the gym and then walked with determination towards the sacrament room and sat down without any complains. I felt so happy that he finally understood! I felt so proud of him and felt like my heart was melting for him. I love my little boy so much, and even when a lot of people were coming towards me just to hold my little girl, he never showed a sign of jealousy and sat calmly. Eventually people noticed him and said hi to him, and they also noticed how calm he was and commented on how well he was behaving! He is usually eager to come out of the sit and play but obviously I don't let him run during sacrament meeting and if he cries, I go out of the room with him and seat him on my lap and gently explain him that even though we are outside he still won't be able to play because that is the time to be calm to wait for the sacraments. I have been doing this for a year now, and he sees other kids with frustrated mothers that let them run and complains a little, but I still don't give in to that cute face of his. I guess today is showing that, one year of discipline is finally paying off. I didn't have to worry about him the whole sacrament meeting and Charlotte was asleep the entire time. It was a truly blessed Sunday but today was the best for Alexis, even though we stopped going out of sacrament room 3 months before Charlotte was born but today, he really showed me how much he understands!
